Microbiotests Phytotoxkit solid samples-phytotoxicity test

Phytotoxkit solid samples

Order code TK61

The phytotoxicity test is intended for phytotoxicity screening of soils, sludges, sediments, composts, effluents for irrigation, chemicals, pesticides and biocides.

The Phytotoxkit solid samples contains all necessary materials to perform one complete 3-day seed germination and early growth tests with the monocotyl Sorghum saccharatum (Sorgho) and the dicotyls Lepidium sativum (gardencress) and Sinapis alba (mustard), in three replicates. This cost-effective and user-friendly phytotoxicity assay strictly adheres to ISO Standard 18763.

Benefits of the Phytotoxicity test

  • The high-quality seeds, the special standard test containers and the standard reference soil guarantee high repeatability and reproducibility of the Microbiotests phytotoxkit, in comparison to conventional phytotoxicity assays.
  • A Quality Control test with a reference substance is described in detail, so you can easily check accuracy and reproducibility.
  • Thanks to the unique transparent test containers, you can immediately observe the germinated seeds and measure the length of the roots (and shoots) by digital image analysis after only three days.
  • The phytotoxicity test requires minimal space and equipment:
  • incubator with lateral lights
  • any type of digital camera
  • computer with image analysis program, which you can obtain for free
  • In comparison to conventional seed germination and root growth inhibition tests very user-friendly setting up and scoring of the phytotoxicity test.
  • Simple handlings and scorings.
  • We can provide you with a computer program for easy Toxkit data treatment.

The sensitivity of the Microbiotests Phytotoxkit is comparable to the sensitivity of conventional phytotoxicity tests based on seed germination and early root growth.

  • The Phytotoxkit is used in many environmental laboratories and research institutes worldwide and is validated by an extensive international interlaboratory comparisons.
  • You can find a substantial number of publications, posters, reports and reviews for various uses.
  • Our phytotoxicity test is highly standardised and complies with ISO Standard 18763.
